Botswana’s Wildlife (Click here)

What better way to round off my African odyssey than with a safari in Chobe National Park, located in northern Botswana?! It’s a phenomenal destination that I first explored nearly 20 years ago. Chobe is notable for having the largest elephant population in Africa, estimated at 50,000. The park stretches over 5,000 sq miles/11,000 sq KM and incorporates riverfront, swamp, and woodland ecosystems. There were many indelible moments, but my two standout favorites were observing a solitary elephant cavorting in the Chobe River, snacking on water lilies, and coming across nearly 70 elephants along the riverbank downstream. Witnessing these colossal creatures in their natural habitat was an unforgettable experience.
